Dr Maria Tumarkin is a Ukrainian-Jewish-Australian writer and cultural historian born and raised in Kharkiv. She is the author of four books of ideas - Axiomatic, Traumascapes, Courage and Otherland - all of which received critical acclaim in Australia, where she now lives.
