In 2023 the theme for National Reconciliation Week was, Be a Voice for Generations. In this oration, Dr Antoinette Braybrook challenges the audience to stand up and show up for the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander community, especially during the year of the Voice Referendum.

CEO of Djirra

Antoinette Braybrook AM gives a voice to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who experience family violence. She is CEO of the Aboriginal Community controlled organisation Djirra, where culture is shared and celebrated and practical support is available to Aboriginal women and Aboriginal people experiencing or affected by family violence. Antoinette also leads and advocates on these issues at both a national and international level through forums such as the National Family Violence and Legal Services Forum, Change the Record, and the 41st session of the UN Human Rights Council.
